Standardized Language Assessment

 

Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Title III (Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students) requires that schools identify limited English proficient students, assess their progress in English language proficiency, and provide eligible children with services that would increase their English proficiency and their academic achievement (IN DOE).

 

 

 

LAS LINKS

 

 

 

 

 

The LAS Links is a language proficiency assessment produced by CTB/McGraw-Hill. The LAS Links measures speaking, listening, reading and writing for grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The newest Form C and D have been aligned to the Common Core.

 

 

 

ACCESS for ELLs (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners) is a language proficiency assessment produced by WIDA. ACCESS measures English Language Development (ELD) in Social & Instructional Language, Language of Language Arts, Language of Mathematics, Language of Science, Language of Social Studies for grades K, 1-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
